A significant tree plantation drive took place in the Maple Garden of Ayub Park, with participants from S-Tech, a prominent software house from the twin cities. This initiative underscored the park’s commitment to
environmental conservation.
NCPC Environment Mela (19th March 2022):
After a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the National Environment Mela 2022 was held to raise awareness about environmental protection. Inaugurated by Brigadier (Retd) Muhammad Asif Akhtar, Director
General of the Army Heritage Foundation, alongside Mr. Irshad Ramay, Coordinator of NCPC, the event featured students from the twin cities showcasing models and performances emphasizing the importance of preserving the Earth’s greenhouse.
Heritage Festival (11th–13th March 2022):
A family-oriented festival at the Ayub Park Cricket Stadium featured various stalls offering quality food and other items. The event was enlivened by performances from artists like Abrar-ul-Haq and Khumarian, attracting numerous families and fostering community spirit.
Dog Show – Rottweiler Category (27th February 2022):
Held at the Sports Complex of Ayub Park, this specialized dog show focused exclusively on the Rottweiler breed. The event recognized and awarded the best dogs, promoting responsible pet ownership and canine excellence.
AAA Associates – Kamyab Jawan Program (29th January 2022):
Under the Prime Minister’s Kamyab Jawan Program, a job marathon was organized at the Topi Rakh Complex by AAA Associates. This initiative aimed to provide employment opportunities and career guidance to the youth, aligning with national efforts to empower young individuals.
Foundation University – Memorandum of Understanding (5th January 2022):
A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between Ayub Park and Foundation University, signifying a
collaborative effort to enhance educational and recreational opportunities within the park’s premises.
These events in 2022 reflect Ayub National Park’s dedication to fostering environmental
stewardship, cultural appreciation, and community development through diverse and engaging
activities.
2nd Mari Azadi Hockey Cup:
Building on the success of the inaugural tournament, the 2nd Mari Azadi Hockey Cup was organized to celebrate Pakistan’s Independence Day. This event provided a platform for hockey enthusiasts to showcase their skills and promote the sport at a national level.
International Yoga Day:
Recognizing the importance of mental and physical well-being, Ayub Park celebrated International Yoga Day with sessions conducted by experienced instructors. Participants from various age groups engaged in yoga practices, emphasizing the significance of a healthy lifestyle.
RCCI Build Expo:
In collaboration with the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), Ayub Park hosted the RCCI Build Expo. This event brought together professionals from the construction and real estate sectors, showcasing the latest developments, technologies, and innovations in the industry.
NCPC Environmental Mela:
The National Cleaner Production Center (NCPC) organized an Environmental Mela at Ayub Park to raise awareness about environmental conservation. The event featured various stalls, exhibitions, and activities aimed at educating the public on sustainable practices and the importance of preserving natural resources.
